PSA Coverage
Understanding insurance coverage for your items on their way to PSA, while they’re in our care, and when they’re heading back to you.
How does inbound shipping insurance work?
PSA does not insure inbound packages. However, you can elect to purchase shipping insurance from third-party providers. If you select FedEx as your shipping method at checkout, you can add inbound shipping insurance from our partner Cabrella*. If you choose to purchase inbound insurance from Cabrella and later need to file a claim, please visit their website at https://app.cabrella.com/claims/psa/.

When does coverage start?
Once PSA confirms it has received an item, it is covered for loss or damage up to the lesser of its fair market value or the applicable Max Insured Value. This coverage extends until your item reaches its next destination (e.g., the PSA Vault, back to you, etc.). Unless you arrange inbound shipping insurance from Cabrella or another third-party provider, your item will not be covered while in transit to PSA.

Some shipping insurance providers do not cover ungraded collectibles for their estimated appraisal value, while other providers such as Cabrella do. If you elect for inbound shipping insurance, be sure to check with your provider of choice to confirm if they offer this coverage.
No input needed—Max Insured Value is set by default according to your chosen service level.
The payout is based on the degree of damage or loss, and is limited to the lower of the item's fair market value or the Max Insured Value for your selected service level.
Higher Service levels offer coverage for more valuable items under a higher Maximum Insured Value. This increased coverage is reflected in higher shipping costs. New return shipping rates generally provide higher maximum coverage at no additional cost.
Your item will be serviced with no impact on its grade. If PSA determines, after grading, that your item’s value exceeds the Max Insured Value for your selected service level, PSA will upgrade the service level for that item (not your entire order). You’ll be notified of additional fees, and once those fees are paid, your item will be covered up to the higher Max Insured Value for the new service level.
*Inbound shipping insurance coverage is offered under a shipper’s interest policy administered by Cabrella, LLC (the “Policy”), a licensed insurance producer. If you elect protection for your shipment, it will be insured under the Policy, and any resulting claim payment will be directed to you as a loss payee. All insurance‑related information is provided by our licensed partner(s).
