The 1959 Home Run Derby baseball set consists of 20 black-and-white cards measuring 3-1/4” by 5-1/4”. American Motors produced this unnumbered issuance to coincide with the abundantly popular Home Run Derby television series. Each blank-backed card displays a player posing “in-action” or as portraits with their name and team at the bottom. The image also shows a circular inset of directing collectors to “See Home Run Derby on TV!” Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Al Kaline, Harmon Killebrew, Mickey Mantle, Eddie Mathews, Willie Mays and Duke Snider anchor this set.
