1928 Harrington's Ice Cream

The 1928 Harrington’s Ice Cream baseball set was strikingly similar, if not identical, in format to the Tharp’s, Yuengling’s and Sweetman’s ice cream sets of the same year, consisting of 60 cards. This product of Dushore, Pennsylvania displays black-and-white posed player photographs surrounded by a white border with his name and card number printed across the bottom. Each card measures 1-3/8” by 2-1/2” with a redemption offer on the reverse for collectors to swap a Babe Ruth card for an ice cream bar. Traders could also trade the entire set for a gallon of ice cream. Riddled with star of the era, this set is highlighted by the likes of Babe Ruth (#6), Rogers Hornsby (#13), Tris Speaker (#28) and Grover Alexander (#44) among many other Hall of Famers.
