1922 American Caramel Series Of 80 (E122)

The 1922 American Caramel baseball set (E122) closely resembles the E121 American Caramel set from the same year and measure slightly smaller than their contemporary at 2” by 3-1/4”. Produced by the American Caramel Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Card front reveal a black-and-white posed player likeness with a white border and the athlete’s name and team in black type at the bottom border inside a gray rectangle. The photographs appear more grainy that the E121s. Though the E122 set reveals much fewer misspelling of player names, they do occur on occasion and the E122 set has fewer variations. Key cards in the E122 series revolve around Hall of Fame talent and include Grover Cleveland Alexander, Frank Baker, Dave Bancroft, Max Carey, Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins, Johnny Evers, Urban Faber, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson, Babe Ruth, George Sisler, Tris Speaker, and Zach Wheat.
