1913 Tom Barker Game

The 1913 Tom Barker Game is a virtual mirror image of the 1913 National Game Baseball set, designated WG6 by the American Card Catalog, consists of 54 cards measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" with rounded corners similar to a deck of playing cards. This is another example of a baseball set created to double as a table game with a black-and-white player image with the player's name and team centered within a black, then white outer border. At the top and bottom of each card is a baseball play scenario such as "Strike", "Hit", "Base Hit", "Ball" and "Home Run", among others. The backs of this set are ornately printed with a unique outer design with a player at-bat in bold red ink with "Tom Barker - Baseball Card Game" and the patent date (March 25, 1913) and details centered on each card. There are 43 identified players and nine others in-action that are unidentified as well as two header cards. This unnumbered issuance is listed according to alphabetical order highlighted by Grover Alexander, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Honus Wagner and Cy Young.
