The 1953 Brownies played their last season for the hometown fans of St. Louis. Some of the players went on to play for the new franchise that moved to Baltimore in 1954 without notables like Roy Sievers who packed for the Washington Senators and Satchell Paige who was released.
Most of the players above only lasted a few seasons with the Orioles (Dyck, Courtney, Wertz and Groth) and were traded away when Paul Richards took over the team and began building a new club. Billy Hunter went on coach for the Orioles down on the 3rd base line for many years and Ole Satch resurfaced in 1965 for one game for Charlie Finley and the Kansas City Athletics.
