The 1975 O-Pee-Chee Baseball set consists of 660 cards, each 2-1/2" by 3-1/2”. Released as the Canadian version of the 1975 Topps set, their designs are identical, featuring facsimile autographs on their card fronts, along with bright, full-bleed borders. Card backs are printed in a horizontal format with the player’s name and career statistics, but differ from their American cousins via a “Made in Canada” tagline and the fact that information is printed in both English and French. Highlights include Hank Aaron (featured on card #1, a 1974 Highlights commemorative, and card #660), as well as multiple new collectibles of recently retired legends Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays. Card #s 614 through 624 were devoted to Rookies, grouped by position and showing four players per card. Talented youngsters like Gary Carter, Keith Hernandez, Jim Rice, and Fred Lynn debuted to the public on these Rookie entries. Future Cooperstown inductees George Brett (#228) and Robin Yount (#223) have their own cards - mid-set – mixed with the game's veterans. With its tally reaching 660, the cards printed in equal quantities, but the O-Pee-Chee set is considered scarcer than the identical Topps version.
