1921 Oxford Confectionary (E253)
The 1921 Oxford Confectionary (E253) baseball set consists of 20 cards measuring approximately 1-5/8” x 2-3/4” each. The front of each example bears a posed player photo with his last name and team affiliation printed within a white stripe at the bottom; the reverse identifies a checklist and notes that the cardboard collectibles have been produced for the Oxford Confectionary Company of Oxford, Pennsylvania. The key card – and most valuable – belongs to Babe Ruth, closely followed by the card for Ty Cobb. The set is also anchored by a wealth of other Hall of Fame talent including Grover Cleveland Alexander, Eddie Collins, Frankie Frisch, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson, George Sisler, and Tris Speaker.
