The 1963 Topps Football Set, A Colorful and Affordable Vintage Issue
In 1962, Topps released what is still regarded as one of the toughest trading card sets of the era to collect in high-grade, mostly due to very fragile black borders. One year later, Topps continued with a colored-border design in their colorful 1963 set. While it isn't quite as tough as the 1962 issue, the 1963 release is still challenging. The 1956 Topps baseball set has long been considered one of the classic issues of the 1950s. Anchored by Mickey Mantle's Triple Crown card, returning to Topps after a two-year absence, one of the more appealing aspects to this issue is that the set is actually feasible to complete in high-grade.
