500 Home Run Club Game-Used Bats
The 500 Home Run Club is, perhaps, the most widely collected of all baseball themes in the hobby. This set pays tribute to the men who consistently provided souvenirs to the fans in the far reaches of the stadium and to the weapons they used to make history. It all started with the Sultan of Swat - Babe Ruth - and, ever since, the greatest sluggers from each generation have been attempting to join this exclusive club. In order to reach the magic number of 500, it takes more than just a few great seasons. Some great sluggers fell way short of inclusion. Even the great Roger Maris, who once slugged 61 homers in a season and won back-to-back MVP Awards, didn't make to 300 let alone 500. Some did it with great reflexes like Hank Aaron while others did it with brute strength like Jimmie Foxx. They could all change the outcome of a game with one swing and each man instilled fear into the hearts of opposing pitchers.
