1929 Exhibits Star Picture Stamps
The 1929 “Star Picture Stamps” Exhibit was produced by the Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago, Illinois and featured primarily celebrities and movie stars, but also a few people from other walks of life. Primarily showing non-sports figures, this card has but one baseball player, Babe Ruth, shown alongside actors Tom Mix, Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd and Douglas Fairbanks, musician Al Jolson, boxer Jack Dempsey and aviator Charlie Lindbergh. The card is printed boldly in red with “Star Pictures Stamp” and the number “50” printed at the bottom of either side of the eight black-and-white portraits. Perforation marks also appear between the photos. The back displays the characteristic postcard indicia as well as the Exhibit Supply Company name in the corner.
