1951 Berk Ross

The 1951 Berk Ross baseball set, also known as the “Hit Parade of Champions”, consists of 72 cards featuring various sports including football, basketball, boxing, golf, figure skating and the Olympics and measure 2-1/6” by 2-1/2”. Each front image displays a player either in-action or portrait style, colorized with many pastel and bright tints, with a creamy border surrounding the photo. The two-card panels were issued in four boxes and can be divided into four subsets, 10 of each set consisting of baseball players. The checklist for the 1951 Berk Ross set, officially designated W-532-1 by the American Card Catalog, only features baseball players and are uniquely numbered 1-1 thru 1-18, 2-1 thru 2-18, and so on through 4-18. The backs reveal “Hit Parade of Champions – 1951” with the player’s name, position, team and basic personal and seasonal stats. Key additions to this unique set are Hall of Famers Phil Rizzuto (#1-3), Stan Musial (#2-1), Larry “Yogi” Berra (#2-4), Joe DiMaggio (#2-5) and Eddie (Whitey) Ford (#4-5).
