1971 Topps

The 1971 Topps Hockey consists of 132 cards, each one measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2". These bright and color exemplars boast a large white border area with a posed color photo set within a bi-color oval at the center of the card. The team name is emblazoned across the top, with the player’s name at the lower left corner; the bottom right corner holds his position with the team logo set above it. For this set, Topps revised the card backs to include the player’s year-by-year record (rather than just the previous season’s statistics) as well as a brief biography and hockey fact. The 1971 Topps set includes a league leaders subset (#s 1-6) and is anchored by Jacques Plante (#10), Phil Esposito (#20), Bobby Hull (#50), Gordie Howe (#70), Bobby Orr (#100) and Tony Esposito (#110), plus the rookie card of Ken Dryden (#45).
