1996 Leaf Signature Autograph PSA/DNA Certified

The 1996 Leaf Signature Series Baseball is the first set to offer an autograph in every pack with a checklist that includes many of the era's top stars. The 1996 Leaf Signature Series primary set consists of 150 cards distributed in two releases (100/50) with a single autographed card inserted in each pack. There are 250 player-signed cards (from 240 players) with three separate distinctions among these autographed gems - 3,500 Bronze Autographs, 1,000 Silver and 500 Gold. Ten short prints have 700 Bronze, 200 Silver and 100 Gold Autographs and are designated as “SP” (short-print). Every card front shows a full-color, in-action photograph of the player with his full name printed at the top, his team at the bottom and a bold signature across the center of the image and “Leaf Signature Series” foil medallion. The backs display horizontally with a second photo as well as the player’s personal and career statistics. Some of the more sought after cards from this unnumbered portion of the set include include Frank Thomas, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Greg Maddux, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa. Also available are the much rarer signatures from Mariano Rivera and Jim Thome, who sign less frequently. Each Major Leaguer also signed an affidavit to verify his authentic signature.
