1989 Topps Heads Up! Test Issue

The 1989 Topps Head Up! Test Issue is a unique group of die-cut "headshots" of 24 Major League Baseball players. These peculiar die-cut cards measured approximately 4-1/2" by 6-1/2" and are often referred to as the "shrunken head" set as each card is cut at the outline of the photograph of the player's face and cap. The backs display the player's name and team in black as well as a small plastric suction cup and adhesive strip for easy display on a flat surface like a window or wall. Highlights of this numbered set include: Tony Gwynn (#1), Ken Griffey, Jr. (#5), Ryne Sandberg (#9), Wade Boggs (#11), Mark McGwire (#14), Ozzie Smith (#17), Don Mattingly (#19), Kirby Puckett (#20) and Mike Schmidt (#24).
