1984 O-Pee-Chee

The 1984 O-Pee-Chee Baseball set consists of 396 cards, each measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2”. Topps chose a unique design for its card fronts, which O-Pee-Chee mirrored, with an in-action color photo the main focus and a smaller headshot occupying a corner, adjacent to his name and position. The team name appears in large vertical letters along one side and the entire card is framed in white. The O-Pee-Chee name also appears in the upper right front corner. Card backs include the team logo, athlete’s name, position, card number, and statistics. The regular issue cards of Cal Ripken, Jr. (#2), Robin Yount (#10), Wade Boggs (#30), Paul Molitor (#60), Ryne Sandberg (#64), Nolan Ryan (#66), Ozzie Smith (#130), George Brett (#223), Rickey Henderson (#230), Pete Rose (#300), Fergie Jenkins (#343), Mike Schmidt (#361), Cal Ripken, Jr. AS (#363)), Gary Carter (#366), Dave Winfield (#378) and Tony Perez (#385) anchor the set. The rookie cards of Don Mattingly (#8) and Darryl Strawberry (#182) were also issued in this series.
