Reggie earned the title “Mr. October” after Game Six of the 1977 World Series when he enjoyed a three-homer night capping off the Yankees series victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 27 World Series Games, Jackson amassed 10 home runs, 24 RBI and a .357 batting average. Clashes with management seemed to follow the feared slugger wherever he went, but so did success at the plate. Reggie led the league in home runs four times and slugging percentage three times. Reggie Jackson retired with 2,584 hits, 1,551 runs scored, 1,702 RBI 563 home runs and 228 stolen bases while batting .262 over his 21-year career. Reginald Martinez “Reggie” Jackson was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993.

Stephen Wayne Yeager (November 24, 1948- ) was a catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers (1972-1985) and Seattle Mariners (1986). He was one of the best defensive catchers of his era, known as an especially strong handler of young pitchers and excellent threat to would-be base runners. Though not known for his hitting prowess,Yeager earned 1981 World Series Co-MVP honors with  a double and two home runs, one of which was a game-winner in Game Five. He was traded to the Mariners for his final season. He retired after 15 years with a .228 batting average, 102 home runs and 410 RBI.

Lawrence Robert Bowa (December 6, 1945-) is former big league shortstop, coach, and manager. His 16 seasons as a player included five All-Star Game rosters, two Gold Glove Awards, and a World Series ring. The Phillies signed Bowa as an amateur free agent in 1965, and in 12 seasons (1970-1981), proved to be a solid infielder. After finishing third in Rookie of the Year balloting in 1970, he led the league in at-bats (650) in 1971. The following year he also led the league in triples (13) and sacrifice bunts (18). In 1979, Bowa set a record for shortstops with a .991 fielding average (broken in 1989 by Tony Fernandez). Having earned a pair of Gold Gloves (1972, 1978) and making it to five All-Star Games (1974-1976, 1978-1979) while also garnering a World Series ring (1980) while with the Phillies, Larry eventually found himself rostered with the Chicago Cubs (1982-1985) … as part of a trade that also brought future Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg to Chicago. A proven leader, Bowa was a key element in the Cubs’ wining the 1984 National League Eastern Division title. After being released by the team near the end of the 1985 campaign, he played 14 games for the New York Mets before retiring. A .260 career hitter, he retired with 525 RBI, 2,191 hits, 987 runs, and a mere 15 homers in 2,247 games. When he left the game, he held the NL record for career games at shortstop (2,222 — later broken by future Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith) plus MLB records for fielding average in a career (.980) and for a single season (.991 in 1979). He later served as manager of the San Diego Padres (1987-1988) and the Phillies (2001-2004), compiling a 418-435 record and 2001 Manager of the Year honors. Sporadically from 1989 to the start of the 2014 season, he was a coach for six different teams.
