1969 Topps Super

The 1969 Topps “Super Baseball Cards” set consists of 66 cards, each measuring 2-1/4" by 3-1/4”. The set derives its name from a “super colorful” high-gloss finish which enhances a bright color photograph used on their fronts. The only other design element on the front is a facsimile autograph. The backs contain a box at the bottom that carries the player’s name, team, position, a copyright line and the card number. Another unusual feature is the cards rounded corners, though square-cornered proof cards are known to exist. The set is anchored by such future Cooperstown enshrinees as Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson, Harmon Killebrew, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Juan Marichal, Willie McCovey, Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson and Carl Yastrzemski. Issued as a separate set from the regular issue 1969 Topps Baseball, it is not commonly seen.
