1963 Fleer

The 1963 Fleer Baseball set consists of 66 cards, each measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2”. Unlike prior Fleer sets, the 1963 issue honored the day’s current players in full color (as opposed to Hall of Famers or former superstars); the remainder of the card was white, with his name, team and position appearing at the bottom border. Another noticeable difference was the set’s size, as a lawsuit filed by rival card manufacturer Topps forced Fleer to stop production at one series of 66 cards. An unnumbered checklist card is one of the set’s scarcer cards, as are card #43 Maury Wills and card #46 Joe Adcock.
