Midway Masters (Frank Bolling/Roy McMillan)

Frank Elmore Bolling (November 16, 1931-) played second base in the Major Leagues for 12 years with two different teams and led all second basemen in his respectively league in fielding four times. Frank was the brother of fellow Major Leaguer Milt Bolling, and when Milt was traded to the Detroit Tigers in 1958 they became the fourth brother combination to man the middle infield for a Major League team. Frank played for the Tigers (1954, 1956-1960) and the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves (1961-1965/1966). Though a respectable hitter, Bolling’s shortcomings at the plate were made up for in the field as he earned the 1958 NL Gold Glove. He posted a .982 career fielding percentage with 3,423 putouts, 4,019 assists, 1,003 double plays and 136 errors in 7,578 chances. He finished his career with a .254 batting average, had 1,415 hits including 221 doubles and 106 home runs, scored 692 runs and drove in 556 RBI in 1,540 games played.

Roy David McMillan (July 17, 1929 - November 2, 1997) spent 16 years as a Major League Baseball shortstop for three different teams, but enjoyed his greatest success during his 10 seasons (1951-1960) with the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds signed McMillan as an amateur free agent in 1947, and in 1954 recorded a then-record number of double plays (129) plus a career-high number of hits (147). A two-time All-Star (1956, 1957), he also captured three consecutive Gold Glove Awards (1957-1959). After appearing with the Milwaukee Braves (1961-1964) and New York Mets (1964-1966), he retired having played in 2,093 games. McMillan had a .243 batting average with 1,639 hits, 68 home runs, and 594 RBIs. Following his retirement, McMillan managed the Milwaukee Brewers (1972) and New York Mets (1975) – replacing Yogi Berra at the helm of the latter team.
