Don Lee Blasingame (March 16, 1932 - April 13, 2005) played second base for 12 seasons in the Major Leagues with five different teams and helped the Cincinnati Reds reach the 1961 World Series. After spending two years in the military, Blasingame played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1955-1959), the San Francisco Giants (1960-1961), the Cincinnati Reds (1961-1963), the Washington Senators (1963-1966) and the Kansas City Athletics (1966). Don had a relatively mediocre but respectable career and he finished with a .979 fielding percentage with 3,065 putouts, 3,550 assists, 834 double plays and 144 errors in 6,759 chances. Over his 12 years, Blasingame batted .258 with 1,366 hits including 178 doubles, scored 731 runs and drove in 308 RBI while also stealing 105 bases.
