John Edwin Blanchard (February 26, 1933–March 25, 2009) was an outfielder and catcher for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics and Milwaukee Braves from 1959-1965, though he also played in a single game for the Yankees in 1955. Blanchard was a third-string catcher for the Yankees, but saw many plate appearances as a pinch hitter and was valuable in the postseason. He ended his major league career having played in 516 games, and retiring with a .239 average, 67 home runs, and 200 RBI. Playing in 15 World Series games from 1960-1964, he batted .345 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI.
