1961 Fleer

The 1961 Fleer Baseball set consists of 154 cards, each measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2”, and each commemorating the career of a Hall of Fame inductee or National Pastime hero. Issued in two series, each card bears a full-color portrait resting against a colored background; a pennant-shaped logo at the bottom of the card contained the player’s name, with stars along the sides and stripes at the lower border. As with Fleer’s prior year’s entry, the 1961 set carried with it a wide selection of Hall of Famers—including all-time greats Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Honus Wagner and Ted Williams.
