1959 Fleer Ted Williams

The 1959 Fleer Baseball set consists of 80 cards, each measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2”, and each commemorating the illustrious life and career of Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Ted Williams. Each card bears a full-color horizontal or vertical image with a small caption printed along the bottom border, plus a bat-and-ball logo design at the corner with Williams’ name. The reverse of each piece bears a continuing biography of Williams from his childhood through the 1958 season. Highlights include #17 “Ted Hits .400” and #63 “All Star Record.” The set’s most scarce and therefore prized piece is Card #68 (“Ted Signs for 1959”) which Fleer withdrew from the collection early in production.
