Edward Terrance “Eddie” Kazak (July 18, 1920 - December 15, 1999) suffered two near career-ending injuries during World War II before his career even began. Eddie had a long and successful minor league career from 1940-1960, with five years of Major League Baseball sandwiched in the middle. Playing primarily third base, Kazak played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1948-1952) and the Cincinnati Reds (1952). Over five seasons wearing a Major League uniform, Eddie Kazak batted .273 with 165 hits including 11 home runs, scored 69 runs and drove in 71 runs. During his 16-year minor league career, Eddie batted .307 with 1,910 hits including 153 home runs, scored 498 runs and drove in 553 runs in 1,729 games.
