The 1947 Bond Bread Exhibits baseball set consisted of 33 cards and came in two different sizes, 3-3/8” by 5-3/8” and 3” by 5”. Believed to have been distributed through penny arcades, this exhibit set resembled many of the exhibit offerings of the age, but appeared in only black-and-white. Typically featuring a player portrait, or in an in-action pose, the player images are accompanied by the player’s facsimile signature, either in white or black. The American Card Catalog assigned W571 and/or D305 as the Bond Bread Exhibit card designation. This unnumbered, blank-backed issuance features Hall of Famers like Bobby Doerr, Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson and Ted Williams, and many others.
