Charles Solomon “Buddy” Myer (March 16, 1904 - October 31, 1974) played second base for 17 seasons for the Washington Senators (1925-1927, 1929-1941) and the Boston Red Sox (1927-1928). Nine times in his career, he lead hit over .300, including the 1935 season when he led the American League with a .349 average. He had seven seasons with ten or more stolen bases and in 1928, as a member of the Red Sox, led the AL with 30 swipes. He played on two American League pennant-winning Senators teams (1925, 1933). Buddy Myer retired after the 1941 seasons with 2,131 hits including 353 doubles, 130 triples and 38 home runs. He added 1,174 runs scored, 850 RBI and a .303 career batting average.
