The 1927 Rinkeydink Stamps set consists of 10 cards measuring 1-1/4” by 1-5/8”, but are not actual stamps. The cards are printed with black, green, blue and red on a newsprint stock of paper and each front consists of a simple drawing of a player, all of which are Hall of Famers. These cards were featured in the heading of the comic strip “Winnie Winkle” and each card possesses a #2 in the upper left corner. The backs are unrelated to the front subjects and appear to have been cut from the funny papers of Sunday newspapers. The set is anchored by Ty Cobb (2), Walter Johnson (6) and Babe Ruth (9) and also features Grover Cleveland Alexander, Eddie Collins, Bucky Harris, Rogers Hornsby, George Kelly, Herb Pennock and Tris Speaker.
