The 1915 American Caramel E106 (as designated by the American Card Catalog) baseball set closely resembles American Caramel’s E90-1 and E90-2 sets, with the exception that this issue’s images reveal a glossy coating as opposed to the previous flat finishes. This unnumbered 48-card set is therefore susceptibly to cracking across the front finish. Each colorized card shows an artistic rendering of the athlete from the National, American and Federal Leagues with his name, position and team denoted in a white border area at the bottom of each card. Each card measures 1-1/2” by 2-3/4” with the backs displaying “This card is one of forty-eight leading Baseball Players in the National, American and Federal Leagues. One card given with every piece of Baseball Caramel manufactured by American Caramel Co. – York, PA (Under the Famous Brand of the P.C.W.)”. The most notable cards in this set include Hall of Famers: Chief Bender, Roger Bresnahan, Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins, Sam Crawford, Johnny Evers, Hugh Jennings, Nap Lajoie, Rube Marquard, Christy Mathewson, John McGraw, Eddie Plank, Tris Speaker, Joe Tinker and Honus Wagner.
