1915/16 M101-5 Sporting News

John Walker “Jack” Lapp (September 10, 1884 - February 6, 1920) spent nine seasons as a catcher in the Major Leagues, spending the majority of his career with the Philadelphia Athletics (1908-1915). Though he spent most of those years on the bench, Lapp was the catcher of record for Game 3 of the 1911 World Series, and had a brilliant 1915 season, with 85 hits and 16 doubles in 312 at bats. After one season with the Chicago White Sox (1916), Lapp retired with a .263 batting average, five career home runs, 416 hits, and 166 RBIs.
