Ellis Ryan

Ellis W. Ryan (June 7, 1904–August 11, 1966) was the principal owner of the Cleveland Indians from 1949-1952, after purchasing the team from Bill Veeck. After selling his share of the Indians, Ryan purchased a portion of the Cleveland Browns football team. The group sold the Browns to Art Modell in 1961. Ryan was also part-owner of the Cleveland Barons Hockey Team of the AHL at one period.
