Incredible Selection of Cards From All Sports Lead the Way in Robert Edward Auctions March 2023 Encore Auction

Chester, NJ - March 9, 2023 - Robert Edward Auctions (“REA”), the premier auction house specializing in sports memorabilia and trading cards in the US, launched its March Encore Auction today with nearly 3,400 items, ranging from rare T206s and numerous classic Babe Ruth Goudeys to Jim Brown and Kobe Bryant rookie cards. This marks REA’s third auction of the year and it will run through Sunday, March 19.

The top items in REA’s March Encore Auction include:

  • Ty Cobb T206s with Scarce Ad Backs - Two elusive 1909-1911 T206 White Border Cobbs: Bat Off Shoulder PSA GOOD 2 with a Polar Bear Back (Lot 19) and Portrait Red Background PSA VG 3 with an Old Mill Back (Lot 5). Two very desirable Cobb cards with beautiful backs.

  • Very Rare Johnny Evers T206 - One of the rarest cards available, this T206 White Border Johnny Evers featuring a desirable Broad Leaf 350 advertising back. This will be the first time REA has sold this front/back combination, and it’s only the third example PSA has ever graded (Lot 23).

  • 1996-97 Score Board Basketball Autographed Collection Kobe Bryant Rookie Gold #31/300 PSA NM-MT 8 with GEM MINT 10 Signature - Depicting Kobe at Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia, this card is not only one of his rarest rookie cards but features a pristine signature from the Laker legend (Lot 88).

  • Trio of Mickey Mantle PSA 8s - Three fantastic cards of The Mick - his 1957 Topps (Lot 2), 1964 Topps (Lot 72), and 1967 Topps (Lot 73) - all graded NM-MT 8 by PSA.

  • 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrigs - Eleven of these classic cards are present within the auction, including all four of the iconic Babe Ruth cards. His #53 (Lots 7 and 38), #144 (Lots 8 and 9), #149 (Lots 10 and 35), and #181 (Lot 11 and 37) are available in a range of conditions.

  • Jackie Robinson Trio - Three of Robinson’s most popular cards: 1948 Leaf #79 Rookie in PSA VG-EX 4 (Lot 4), 1955 Topps #50 in PSA NM-MT 8 (Lot 3), and his 1956 Topps #30 in PSA NM 7 (Lot 59).

  • 1952 Topps Mays and Campos “Black Star on Back” - Two cards from the classic 1952 Topps set - the popular #261 Willie Mays (Lot 53) and the lesser known but extremely rare #307 Frank Campos “Black Star on Back” (Lot 54), which was unknown to exist until 2006.

  • 1919 Grover Alexander and 1927 Honus Wagner Signed Checks - Signed checks are extremely hard to find especially with signatures of Hall of Famers from this era. A Chicago Cubs payroll check originating from a team executive (Lot 31) and a personal check featuring the Flying Dutchman’s early signature of “J. Honus Wagner” (Lot 18) are highly desirable signed items. 

  • Star Wars, Batman and Davy Crockett Unopened Wax Packs - Three unopened packs that are increasingly difficult to find, each in great condition: 1977 Topps “Star Wars” Second Series in PSA MINT 9 (Lot 2120), 1956 Topps “Davy Crockett” Orange in PSA EX-MT 6 (Lot 58), and 1966 Topps “Batman” Third Series in PSA EX-MT 6 (Lot 2097).
