Clean Sweep Auctions current auction is loaded with over 900 lots. Our current auction is one of our best and it ends on Wednesday February 1, 2023. The current auction has a tremendous variety of interesting, rare, valuable and special items across many areas of collecting.

We open the auction with twenty-eight different key lots. These lots include a T206 Ty Cobb Green Background PSA 3.5, Red Background with a Sovereign back, Bat Off Shoulder with a Sovereign back, T206 O’Hara St. Louis PSA 2.5, 1923 Maple Crispette Babe Ruth PSA 2, all four 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth cards in collector grade and a 1938 Goudey Joe DiMaggio PSA 4.5.

The key lots continue with a pair of 1949 Bowman Jackie Robinsons (PSA 5 and 6), 1949 Bowman Satchel Paige PSA 7, a beautifully centered PSA 3 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle Rookie Card, 1952 Bowman Mickey Mantle PSA 7, 1952 Topps Willie Mays PSA 4, a mid-grade 1953 Topps baseball card set, a 1959 Fleer Ted Williams PSA 8 and higher registry set and a 1965 Topps Sandy Koufax PSA 9. We close out the key lots with a stunning Satchel Paige PSA 8 Perez Steele postcard, a remarkably fine 1912 Major League Baseball Game, Mickey Mantle’s 1950 scouting report, Terry Collins’s 1981 LA Dodgers World Championship ring, Chuck Knobloch’s personal 1991 Minnesota Twins World Series trophy, a 1957-8 Topps Bill Russell RC PSA 4, a superb PSA 7 1961-2 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain RC, 1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan RC Beckett Mint 9 and finally, an amazing lot of six real name Rocky Graziano autographs (Thomas Barbella), that may be the only known examples in the hobby.

Baseball card singles begin the auction as usual, checking it at over 350 lots, we start in the 19th century. Highlights include N28 Allen and Ginter Cap Anson PSA 1.5 and King Kelly, 1895 N300 Mayo Cut Plug John Clarkson PSA 4 and a T204 Ramly Eddie Plank. T206 collectors will see a fine run of T206 HOFers with better backs and many very clean T206 HOFers including two more Ty Cobbs, one with a Tolstoi back, a beautiful Mathewson Dark Cap and Cy Young Bare Hand PSA 3.

Other baseball card highlights include 1920 W516-1 and 1921 Schapira Babe Ruth PSA Authentics, 1921 W551 Babe Ruth PSA 2, 1922 W501 Ty Cobb PSA 4.5, three collector grade 1933 Goudey Lou Gehrigs, two collector grade 1933 Goudey Babe Ruths, three 1934 Goudey Lou Gehrigs, 1951 Bowman Willie Mays RC, 1952 Berk Ross Mickey Mantle PSA 2, 1952 Bowman Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays PSA 4, a pair of 1953 Topps Mantles, PSA 4 and 5 Hank Aaron Rookie Cards, four 1955 Topps Koufax Rookies, 1955 Topps Clemente RC PSA 3, three 1956 Topps Mantles, key cards from a freshly graded 1963 Topps Presentation Set, three Pete Rose Rookie Cards and much more.

Baseball card sets and lots go to the tobacco era and include some very unusual 1920s partial sets and a nice selection of 1950s to 1970s complete sets and near-sets. Baseball autographs are another high point of the auction. We have a signed Ty Cobb Baseball Magazine Premium, 1933 Goudey Dizzy Dean signed card, 1956 Topps lot of 277 different signed cards and an amazing Perez Steele slabbed postcard set, mainly 10s, with all of the scarcities. Other notable baseball autographs including a 1961 Yankee yearbook with vintage Mantle and Maris signatures, a fine Lou Gehrig cut signature, a rare and gorgeous Connie Mack signed Black and White HOF plaque and many fine signed baseballs and photos.

Historical autograph collectors will see a JFK signed Presidential document. Basketball card collectors will see many fine lots, including two Jerry West Rookies with a PSA 7, an extremely rare Bill Russell 1969 NBA Player’s Association card, 1986-7 Fleer Olajuwon RC PSA 10 and a 1996 Flair sealed box. Basketball autographs include a Mint UDA Michael Jordan signed basketball and 8x10 photo. 

Football card collectors will see a run of high grade 1952 Bowman football cards, 1957 Unitas RC PSA 6 and 7, 1958 Topps Jim Brown RC 4, 1958 Topps Unitas PSA 8, many Tom Brady Rookies, including PSA 9s of the 2000 Bowman and Bowman Chrome and key cards of Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Key football autograph items include a pair of Tom Brady signed full size helmets and a stunning Knute Rockne autograph.

Baseball memorabilia nicely closes out the auction. Key items including a possibly unique large format 1887 Detroit Wolverines display piece with three HOFers, 1954 World Series game one ticket, 1958 New York Yankees double-sided diamond pendant, 1962 Mets first game full ticket, Terry Collins’s 1978 LA Dodgers ring, the final part of our fine run of black bats and a small but high quality offering of 1920s and 1930s World Series programs.
