Paying Tribute to Kobe
The world was in shock on January 26, 2020, when word spread that Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna, and seven other people had died in a helicopter crash. Understandably, the news shook the hobby as well. David Kohler, President and CEO of SCP Auctions and one of the premier Lakers collectors in the hobby, discusses what the loss of this legend means to him.

Set Registry Starter Kit: Emmitt Smith
Emmitt Smith rushed for more yards than any player in NFL history. He won three Super Bowls, was named to four All-Pro Teams, was the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1993 and somehow his rookie cards are still affordable. SMR tells you all you need to know about the Emmitt Smith rookie set and why you should add it to your collection!

Collecting the 1976 Topps King Kong Trading Card Set – A "Beast" to Assemble in High Grade
Trading card subjects come in all shapes and sizes, with some being hairier than others! The 1976 Topps King Kong set is dedicated to everyone’s favorite giant gorilla and loaded with iconic images of the adversarial ape. SMR details this affordable 55-card issue in all of its monstrous glory!

What Are My 1977 Star Wars Cards Worth?
What role do legends play in your card or autograph collection?
  1. They are my focus. I collect nothing but the greats.
  2. I have a handful of specific items that are highlights of my collection.
  3. I like legendary subjects, but don’t focus on individuals.
  4. I prefer to collect the newest releases and speculate on who will become legendary.
