Taking My Hacks: Practice What You Preach
Despite our efforts to keep our collections appropriately defined and focused, there are times when we may suddenly shift gears and begin moving in a completely new direction. Blame it on boredom, lack of focus, or the realization that there is a lot of great stuff to collect in our hobby, but it is a reality. In his most recent editorial, Joe Orlando talks about these winds of change and how they keep the hobby fun and fulfilling.

Collecting the 1954 Quaker Oats Sports Oddities Card Set – Amazing Feats and a Few Famous Faces Grace This Offbeat Offering
There are few trading card sets that are more diverse than the 1954 Quaker Oats Sports Oddities. High school football players, female bowlers, one-armed handball players, Olympic runners, and a major league stadium all make an appearance in this set. SMR takes a look at just what qualified as a "sports oddity" in 1954 and the collectors who chase this unique issue.
