My Personal Journey Continues
It is not often that we are able to earn our living in an industry for which we have great passion. Even rarer is when our efforts leave an indelible mark on that industry. Joe Orlando has had the opportunity to live both of those scenarios as the president of PSA. Now he is moving on to a brand new challenge, yet with both of his feet still firmly planted in the hobby that he loves.

A Collector’s Journey – The Dilemma of a Growing Sports Card Collection
Single cards grow into sets, sets morph into collections, collections develop into hobbies, hobbies become passions. It’s interesting how an accumulation of items as small as trading cards can suddenly require large amounts of storage space. Add high values to the equation, and safe storage becomes a necessity. In the following piece, Rich Dyer walks hobbyists through his plan for storing, and yet still enjoying, an extensive collection.

The 1923 W572 Baseball Strip Card Set – An Inexpensive and Challenging Vintage Alternative
With values of early HOF cards continually rising, how can budget-conscious hobbyists add relevant, career-contemporary cards to their collections? Archive sets can be nice alternatives, but there is something about the feel of vintage cardboard that just speaks to collectors. If you are not in the position to spend thousands of dollars on a single addition to your collection, then strip cards might just be your answer. In the next article, SMR takes a look at the star-studded, yet still affordable, W572 set.

Checking In With PSA – 10.18.17 – The Great American Collectibles Show
We all love our collections, but how would you rate the organization and storage of your cards?
  1. I have spreadsheets, lists, proper boxes, and every card is stored perfectly.
  2. I’m pretty good with things, but there is a pile of new stuff I haven’t yet gotten to yet.
  3. I think I can locate most of the things in my collection.
  4. Someone save me! I’m drowning in cards!
