Collecting the 1977 Topps Basketball Card Set – An Underrated 1970s Hoops Issue

abdul-jabberDuring the 1970s, the sport of basketball began to turn a corner, which resulted in a tremendous decade for hoops fans the following decade. Before Magic, Bird and Jordan emerged, there were players like "Dr. J," Moses and the "Iceman" who paved the way. palacejester – The Number One Current Finest 1952 Bowman Large Football Set
The 1952 Bowman Large football card set has long been one of the iconic issues in the hobby. Visually stunning, the colorful artwork on these cards has captivated collectors over the years, especially since the cards were produced in a slightly larger format compared to its "small" sister set. There are several very tough cards in the set including a host of short prints, which includes the #1 Norm Van Brocklin card, and the most valuable card of all – the #144 Jim Lansford card – which is notoriously off center and the last card in the set. The 2014 award winner for Best Vintage Football Set of the Year (pre-1960) is one of only two sets on the Current Finest list to exhibit an overall GPA of PSA 8 or better at 8.07.
