  Collecting the 1973 Topps Football Card Set – Building the "Immaculate Collection"

topps-dave-longThe 1970s produced some very popular Topps trading card sets from the world of football. From the 1971 Topps set and its colorful design to the 1976 Topps production and its Walter Payton foundation, the decade is filled with desirable options. The 1973 Topps set is one that often gets lost in the shuffle. This large 528-card issue has a nice selection of Hall of Fame rookies, including those of Art Shell, Jack Ham, Curley Culp, Dan Dierdorf, Jim Langer, Jack Youngblood and – of course – Franco Harris. Collecting the Top Football Rookie Cards of the 1980s – Revelling in Rice, Reggie and Comeback Joe

It turned out to be a terrific decade for Hall of Fame rookies and some of these legends are still considered amongst the very best at their positions.
