Stan Musial: Collecting Baseball's   Stan Musial: Collecting Baseball's "Perfect Knight"
Stan Musial is, without question, one of the greatest hitters to ever step on the baseball field. Stan the Man could hit for power and average, amassing nearly 500 home runs and well over 3,500 hits in his illustrious career. He was also remarkably consistent, finishing with the exact same number of hits at home as he did on the road. In addition to his on-the-field greatness, Musial has been a fan-favorite for decades as a result of his friendly demeanor. In the following article, we take a look at some of Musial's most desirable cards. More...

2001 Topps Heritage Real One Autographs - A Modern Twist on a Vintage Classic   2001 Topps Heritage Real One Autographs - A Modern Twist on a Vintage Classic
At one point in time, it was considered almost taboo to place an autograph on a baseball card. Card purists felt that the act was, in essence, defacing the collectible and it now contained a foreign object on its face. Well, today, that has all changed. Over past two decades, collectors have embraced both modern and vintage-signed cards. In fact, manufacturers have picked up on this new line of thinking and produced thousands of autographed cards. The 2001 Topps Heritage series is one such product and it combines the old and the new for mass appeal. More...

Phil's #5 Master - The Number One Current Finest Johnny Bench Master Set
Many say that Johnny Bench was the best defensive catcher in baseball history and we would suspect that this collector is one of the many who feel this way. Along with being inducted into the historical Baseball Hall of Fame, Bench was the recipient of many awards during his active career; Rookie of the Year, Gold Glove Winner, and multiple MVP awards, just to name a few, all the while remaining with one team, the Cincinnati Reds. Just shy of completion, this set lists an 8.17 set rating, which is not too far off from the Finest Possible of 8.94; it's no surprise this set won for Best of the Registry in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010! Question: Bert Blyleven was recently inducted in the MLB HOF. Is his 1971 Topps rookie card fairly easy to find in high-grade?

Answer: The Blyleven rookie (#26) is actually one of the toughest cards in the entire 1971 Topps set. From poor centering to excessive chipping, the Blyleven rookie is so tough that a PSA Mint 9 sold for nearly $4,000 in the last 3 years. Now that he is in the HOF, the card might experience even more attention.
