Topps Baseball Coins Showing Their Metal: Collectors Clamor for Vintage Topps Coins
Most of us who collected sportscards during our youth remember trading with our friends and buying packs at the store, but there have been other collectibles put out by manufacturers -- like stamps, pins and even coins featuring those same sports legends. Today, some collectors have decided to revisit certain coin issues such as 1964 and 1971 Topps coins. Each set contained many of the major stars of the era and they have started to become quite collectible due to their excellent player selection and relatively affordable price. In the following article, we learn more about these once obscure sets. More...

The Men of T206 The Men of T206 - New Book Reveals the Tales of Players Featured in the Storied Set
The T206 baseball set has long been one of the most iconic issues in the hobby. The Monster, as it is often referred to, is enormous in size but also one of the most beautiful sets ever made. The one aspect of the set that differs from the sets most hobbyists remember collecting as kids is that the backs do not contain any information about the players. There are no statistics or stories about any of them, from the commons to the Hall of Famers. Tom Zappala has put together a beautiful book, due out in this spring, that will allow collectors to get to know the players who comprise this magnificent hobby staple. In the following piece, we interview Tom about his exciting new book. More...

Teemu - The Number One Current Finest 1970-1979 O-Pee-Chee Hockey Wax Pack (Any Series) Set
This set jumped out as one of the first complete Wax Pack runs on the registry. During the 1970s, O-Pee-Chee continued to manufacture the most popular hockey sets of the time. Always considered much tougher than their Topps counterparts, the O-Pee-Chee cards sell for a noticeable premium. During this stretch, O-Pee-Chee was responsible for producing some of the most popular hockey rookie cards in the hobby, from Ken Dryden to Wayne Gretzky. This complete set, with images, has a high GPA of 8.18, enabling it to become one of the first award-winning pack collections in the registry. Click here to view.

Question: Is it possible to receive a MK (Mark) qualifier on a card without the presence of ink or pencil?

Answer: Yes. Sometimes, the ink or pencil used to make a mark on a card will disappear over time but the impression may still be left on the surface of the card from the applied pressure of the writing instrument. In that case, a qualifier of MK will still apply.
