Cohens The Cohens vs. The Monster
The T206 set, nicknamed "The Monster" due to its extreme size and rarity, is perhaps the most important baseball card issue of all time. Taking on the challenge of assembling a complete T206 requires the perfect mix of passion, an intuitive gut and financial wherewithal. Richard Baron Cohen and his son Adam have that mix. More...

Fleer Basketball 1961-62 Fleer Basketball - The Ultimate Vintage Hoops Set
Nearly five decades after its initial release, the 1961-62 Fleer Basketball set has become one of the most popular basketball sets. This star-studded set gave collectors their first chance to own cards of Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, and a number of other future Hall of Famers. However, the set was produced in much lower numbers than contemporary baseball sets, making high-grade examples tough to find. This combination of scarcity and tremendous player selection makes '61-62 Fleer the ultimate vintage roundball set. More...

Rookie Ecstasy - The Number One Current Finest Hall of Fame Rookies Basketball Set
This 88-card set is filled with many of the most important basketball cards ever manufactured. It includes, amongst others, iconic cards like the 1948 Bowman George Mikan, the 1957 Topps Bill Russell, the 1961 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain and the 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan... all the rookie card staples can be found in this set. The sheer dominance of this particular set is what makes it so impressive. With a GPA of 8.73, it is about 2.5 grade points higher than the only other complete run of HOF rookies in the category. It is simply the best of the very best. Click here for a look.

Question: How badly do "clubhouse" signatures hurt the value of a multi-signed item?

Answer: This is a very good question. When it comes to team-signed items, especially from the pre-1960 era, it was not uncommon for a clubhouse employee to sign on behalf of the players. It wasn't done in a malicious manner since autographs were not worth much in those days, it was simply done to provide fans with items when the players were too busy to sign. In some cases, the vast majority of the item is signed by the players and the clubhouse person simply fills in the blanks. In other cases, the clubhouse figure may sign on behalf of the entire item. What is remarkable is just how good some of these clubhouse figures were at forging the autographs. They obviously had a lot of practice. When it comes to value, unfortunately, clubhouse signatures can really harm a piece. Of course, it depends on the player and the number of clubhouse signatures present. An extreme example of how badly a clubhouse signature can harm the value is illustrated by the recent sale of two 1927 Yankee team photos. The one that contained all original signatures sold for $350,000. The one that contained a clubhouse signature of Babe Ruth sold for less than $10,000 - a remarkable difference in value and clear evidence that collectors do care about the issue quite a bit.
