Question: I am trying to better understand the centering criteria for 8.5's, can you explain?

Answer: Well, we do have general criteria listed on-line and inside SMR but another way to look at it is that, in order to achieve an 8.5, the card must exhibit the minimum centering requirement for a PSA Mint 9. Centering plays a vital role in half-point grading near the top end of the scale, since eye-appeal is so important. Even though a card may not be Mint otherwise, the centering standard is the same.

Which of the following tickets do you feel is the most desirable?

  1. 1932 World Series Game 3 (Babe Ruth's Called Shot)
  2. 1991 Nolan Ryan 7th No-Hitter
  3. 1968 Super Bowl II
  4. 1962 Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point Game
