Collecting 1951 Parkhurst Hockey
The 1951 Parkhurst hockey set is one of the keys in all of card collecting. Absolutely riddled with rookie cards, this set features some of the most important single cards in the hobby. Rookies of Maurice Richard, Doug Harvey, Terry Sawchuk and Gordie Howe anchor the set, a set that exhibits a true vintage feel. In the following piece, we find out why this set has become so important to collectors of ice legends. Click here to read on.

Jack Zugay - The King of Golf
Golf card collecting, like the sport itself, has become increasingly popular during the Tiger Woods era. What many collectors fail to realize is the rich history that preceded the modern game. That history is captured on several key vintage golf card issues and no one knows that better than Jack Zugay, one of the leading collectors in the country. In the following piece, Zugay shares his insight on the state of golf card collecting. Click here to read on.

Stoney417 (Set #1)- The Number One Current Finest 1975 Topps Comic Book Heroes Stickers Set
This collector's set is definitely a blast from the past! The set has won 'Best of the Registry' two years running. The set rating is 9.83, with a finest possible of 9.88. There are only two cards in this set that can be improved upon. Complete with images for each item, this collector is obviously a fan, such a fan that he also has the #2 ranked set. Take a peek at this collectors' set. For some it will bring back memories, but all will see that out of the 41 cards required, 8 of them are the finest graded examples. Congratulations! Click here to enjoy.

Half Grade Calculations
If you submit your cards to PSA for re-grade and they are upgraded, your certification number will remain the same and you will not need to re-add the card to your set. However, you will need to validate your set in order for the GPA and Rating to be updated. Once you have your grades, please login, go Edit Set, bring your set up, and validate!

PSA Set Registry V2
Work has begun on the Version 2 of the PSA Set Registry. We expect to launch sometime this Spring. The new program will allow you to track your inventory with price paid and source. You will be able to add multiple sets directly from your inventory. The addition of images will be much easier and the program will automatically adjust the size of your image for you. The Collectors Showcase area will be divided into categories and your showcase collection will be easier to locate. You will be able to post comments on other members' sets. Your PSA orders can be viewed within "My Set Registry" and you will be able to add new cards to your inventory, directly from the order screen. The program is based on the PCGS Set Registry (Coins) and the PCGS Currency Registry . If you have not visited these registries, we encourage you to do so.

Question: What is the difference between an amateur and professional crack repair on a game-used bat?

Answer: When a bat exhibits a crack from game use, some collectors prefer to have the crack repaired for either preservation or aesthetic reasons. They are both acceptable practices in the world of bat collecting since the repair has no bearing on the authenticity of the piece. As long as it is disclosed at the point of sale, it should not be a problem. An amateur repair is best described as simply taking wood glue to the crack area and securing it with a clamp until it dries. A professional repair is performed by someone with extensive experience, where the result of the repair is virtually undetectable. In each case, the repair can help the collector, especially if the crack lies in the lower handle area. By repairing the crack, it may make it easier to handle the bat, which most collectors enjoy. The last thing you want is a splinter after swinging a Ted Williams bat!
