Collecting the 1966 Philadelphia Football Set
The 1966 Philadelphia football card set was more than just a collection of cards, it was a direct representation of the times. The war between rival football leagues and football card manufacturers was at its pinnacle. Never in football card history did a simple piece of cardboard mean so much to the eventual establishment of a league that so many of us cherish today. Click here to read on.

The Pool is Shrinking... is that a Bad Thing?
As the Internet has boomed, the pool of full-time sports collectibles dealers has shrunk. Many storefronts have disappeared, while shows have started to drop like flies. On the surface, this would seem to be a bad thing -- but PSA President Joe Orlando sees a possible upside. Click here to read more.

Put your hands up! - The Number One Current Finest 1936 G-Men and Heroes of the Law Set
For four years the owner of the MF collection held the number one spot in this set, receving the "Best of the Registry" award each year. But in 2007, the owner of "Put your hands up!" surged ahead, completing this 168-card set with a set ranking .18 points above MF and taking the first place slot. This is an accomplishment because several cards in the set are scarce. The owner of this set is the first to reach 100% completion. Congratulations! Click here to enjoy!

Question: What is better, a personal check or a sports payroll check from an athlete?

Answer: Great question. Most hobbyists feel a payroll check is better since the document relates to the sport the signor played. In essence, it is more directly linked to sports history. On the flip side, remember that payroll checks are endorsed on the reverse, making it more difficult to display if you choose to frame them. Of course, framing them with a clear backing or simply making a color copy of the reverse can solve that dilemma. Personal checks vary in demand, based on rarity, content and condition. There are cases where a personal check can outperform a payroll check if those three aspects of the check are exceptional.

Do you think Michael Vick sportscards and memorabilia will ever be in high demand again after his alleged link to the dog fighting scandal?

  1. Yes, only if he avoids a conviction and comes back strong.
  2. Yes, his off-the-field problems will not damage his hobby values.
  3. No, regardless of the outcome of the dog fighting case or his future performance.
  4. No, the dog fighting scandal is irrelevant.
