Collecting the Magic Man
Collectors of Earvin "Magic" Johnson cards are working their own kind of magic on the PSA Set Registry. Devoted to their Earvin Johnson Basic (37 cards) and Master (166 cards) sets, these hobbyists are spearheading their own "Showtime" offense when it comes to the former Laker's cardboard. The Batting Cage: Why We Collect
For this issue, bat experts John Taube and Vince Malta thought it would be nice to have a few collectors share their thoughts on collecting game-used bats. As you read their comments, you'll see that they all share a common theme -- they are moved emotionally by the bats they own. Click here to read more.

Wolfbear - The Number One Current Finest 1962 Fleer Football Set
Since we began giving out awards in 2002, Wolfbear has received a nod every year for his 1962 Fleer football set. His set has remained number one for six years and at the deadline this year, was still there... far above the next competitor. The Finest Possible Set Rating for this set is 8.99. The Wolfbear set has a Weighted GPA of 8.75 and and is continually being upgraded. Take a look at his set and you will see many 0's in the Pop Higher column, which means Wolfbear has registered the highest graded card. Then look at the Pop column and you'll see that not only does he have the highest graded, but he has the SINGLE highest graded with a Pop 1! The Wolfbear set is a treat to view because every card in the set has an image and description. Click here to look at this labor of love.

Question: On the PSA Set Registry, what is a Mega-Set?

Answer: A Mega-Set can be many things but it is usually a combination of multiple sets within a particular theme. For example, a Mega-Set may be all of the Topps baseball sets of the 1950s or The Big Three (T206, 1933 Goudey and 1952 Topps) or it could be a year set like 1948 Bowman baseball, basketball and football. You can be really creative and we welcome Mega-Set category suggestions as we build this part of the Registry.

In your opinion, what is the most important trading card set of all-time?

  1. 1909-11 T206 Baseball
  2. 1933 Goudey Baseball
  3. 1952 Topps Baseball
  4. 1952 Bowman Large Football
  5. 1961 Fleer Basketball
