Autograph Analysis and Signing Habits of Hall of Fame First Baseman "Gorgeous" George Harold Sisler
His good friend Branch Rickey called him the smartest player that ever lived. He's known as one of the best first basemen to ever play the game, but he also attained a .340 lifetime batting average, had a low strikeout percentage, and led the league in stolen bases four times. Not bad for a player who started the game as a pitcher! Autograph expert James Spence, Jr. examines the career and the signing habits of "Gorgeous George." Click here to read more.

Question: Why are the 1914 Cracker Jacks priced similarly to the 1915's if the 1914's are much tougher?

Answer: They are tougher but, sometimes, an issue can be so tough that it discourages collecting. You can see that on many issues but it is certainly highlighted by this series. The 1914's are much, much more difficult -- especially in high-grade -- but set builders need available cards to actually attempt a set. Without available cards, collecting is not much fun. That is the primary reason for the pricing.
