New PSA Set RegistrySM Software Launched!
We are very pleased to announce that last week the new PSA Set RegistrySM software went live. Some of the features are as follows:
  • Cards are now added in a form at the top of the data entry page. You do not need to search for the right "slot." Simply type in the certification number (you can enter ten at a time), then click on the ADD ITEMS button. The system will match your item to the spec number associated with it and put it in the appropriate "slot."
  • Validations are now automatic. No more waiting for 3 business days! Simply click on the VALIDATE button at the bottom of the form when you are ready. If you do not validate, your updates will not appear online. Also, you must validate in order for cards to be deleted from your set.
  • You can perform mass card deletions at one time within a set by using check boxes by each item in EDIT SET administration, but don't forget to validate!
  • You can delete the same card from several sets (ex: delete from basic & master sets) at one time. You will use the DELETE ITEMS link in user administration to perform this function.
  • We have a new Collector's Showcase area. This is where you can add "non-set" cards. Example, if you have a rare, high-grade PSA-graded card you would like to showcase but you have no intention of building a set around it, you can showcase it in the new area. These cards are not in competition, but simply an area to show off!
  • There are now columns for the population and population higher in the view set area. (Obviously, if your set is not marked to show, you will not be able to see this information.)
  • If you add a card to your set that has not been deleted from another member's set, an automatic email is now sent to the previous owner requesting deletion. If the member still does not update his/her set within 3 business days, you should contact [email protected] and we'll take care of the issue for you.
Thanks everyone for your patience over the last few months. We hope it was worth the wait!

We have once again begun loading new set requests and will notify you when your set composition is online. Please note that any request we received after August 31st for card additions to player sets which are already online will not be added to the player sets until after the awards deadline on October 31st. Should you have any questions, please email [email protected].

Question: Is it true that sharpie signatures are harder to forge than ballpoint pen signatures?

Answer: According to most experts, this is the belief. The sharpie signature lacks the detail found on ballpoint pen or pencil signatures because the tip of the pen and way the ink flows is thicker -- preventing some noticeable details -- thus hiding flaws in the forgeries. While experts can tell the difference, these forgeries are certainly easier to get past the average collector. The same can be said of flats versus bats or balls. Generally, it's harder to forge an autograph on a round surface compared to a flat one.
