PSA Set Registry Awards Deadline Postponed
The new version (V2) of the PSA Set Registry is expected to launch mid-May. Because we would like some time to resolve any problems that may occur and give members a chance to familiarize themselves with V2, we are postponing this years PSA Set Registry Awards deadline from May 30th to Friday, June 13th. If you have a set that may be in contention, any updates must be made by 6/13/08 at 2pm PST. The awards presentation will still occur as planned at the PSA Set Registry Luncheon on Friday, August 1st at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Rosemont, Illinois. Email invitations will be sent out to all registry members approximately 6 weeks before the luncheon.
A Reminder about your Usernames vs. Logins
When we launch V2, you will be required to login using your email address and password. Your username will no longer be valid as a login. However, your username will be seen associated with your image albums and various other places in the Registry. Many of you are using your email address as your username. If you do not wish your email address to be viewable to the public, please login to your account in the next few weeks and update your username to something other than your email address. For example, if you name all of your sets the same thing, you might want to use that name as your username. The Smith Collection can be SmithCollection or Smith_Collection as the username. To update your account, click here.

PSA Set Registry V2 Update
We are making very good progress on the new PSA Software, version 2 (V2). We expect to begin beta testing in 2-3 weeks. Here are some of the new features:
Add inventory one card at a time or in batches
Inventory tracking with price paid and source
Easy image loading with no size restrictions
Add multiple sets directly from your inventory
What if? feature to allow you to see what the addition of a card will do to your ranking
Collectors Showcase divided into categories and collections easier to locate
Ability to post comments on other members' sets
PSA submissions can be viewed within "My Set Registry" and you will be able to add new cards to your inventory, directly from the order screen
In preparation for our launch, there are a few things you should know.
Usernames vs. Logins
When we launch V2, you will be required to login using your email address and password. Your username will no longer be valid as a login. However, your username will be seen by your image albums and various other places in the Registry. To update your account, go to http://www.psacard.com/Membership/login.html.
Database Import
We are doing our best to ensure that sets and inventory import into V2 as accurately as possible. Where a card might be registered in the wrong slot, it will filter to the correct slot to match the corresponding spec number. However, there may be some cases where no spec number is associated with your card. In that case, the card will import to your inventory but not into your set. Once we launch, please review your sets. If you find a card from your inventory is missing in your set and cannot be added, please contact the registry customer service at setregistry@collectors.com. We will handle these cases on a first come first served basis. Please allow us a little extra time during the first 30 days after launch to address your requests.
Panels, Leader cards, Combos
V2 does not support the addition of a second same spec number to any set. This will affect sets such as the 1951 Berk Ross, 1951 Topps Blue Back and 1962 Topps CFL. These sets have been updated so that panels are associated with the first name on the holder. For example, the Johnny Pesky/Bobby Doerr panel is associated with the Johnny Pesky slot. The Pat Claridge/Steve Cotter panel is associated with the Pat Claridge slot. This change will also affect a few cards in the HOF sets where the same card has been used in two different slots. For example, the 1941 Double Play Johnny Mize-39, Enos Slaughter-40 card can only be used in the Johnny Mize slot, the first name on the card. We are working with our IT department to figure out a work around on these types of situations. Should you wish to use your panel for a different player than it is slotted for, please contact setregistry@collectors.com.
Note that in the HOF sets, leader cards and combo cards will only be assigned one slot. In most cases, those slots will be filled in by user request on a first come basis. Therefore, if you are planning to purchase a leader card or combo card for your HOF set, check with customer service first to make sure the card is not already assigned to a particular player. You will also be able to determine this yourself by using the new What if? feature.
Beta Testers
If you are interesting in testing the new software in a few weeks, please contact bsearls@collectors.com. You will be able to perform all functions in V2 and it will not affect your real inventory once we launch.

Half Grade Calculations
If you submit your cards to PSA for re-grade and they are upgraded, your certification number will remain the same and you will not need to re-add the card to your set. However, you will need to validate your set in order for the GPA and Rating to be updated. Once you have your grades, please login, go Edit Set, bring your set up, and validate!

T206 Varieties
Please note that PSA has recently made a modification in the labeling of the 1909-11 T206 baseball set. PSA is now designating the many different back varieties in this set. As these are newly recognized and previously not cataloged in our database, you may receive an error message pertaining to a spec # not being associated with this set. Please allow 1 business day for the spec # to be added. Once the set has been updated, you will be able to add your card. As a reminder, the spec #'s are PSA's internal numbering system and is how the Registry recognizes valid cards for the sets. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Player Set Card Additions
Before attempting to add a card to a player set, please take a moment to check the set composition to make certain that the card is listed. You will find the link to the set composition under the Current Set listing. Attempting to add cards that are not in the set generates an email to the Set Registry customer service regardless if the card is in the set or not. These emails must be researched, thus causing a slow-down in the update of specs for members attempting to add cards that are listed in the sets. Thank you for your courtesy and cooperation.

New Online Form for Player Set Card Requests
There is now a form online that will allow you to send us a list of cards you would like added to basic and/or master sets. All it requires is the cert# of the card and your email address. The form is located on the Set Requests page. If you are active in the players sets, you should bookmark this page:
http://www.psacard.com/set_registry/player_additions.chtml
This form saves you time because all you need do is type in your cert# and email address. It saves the Set Registry customer service team time because we will be able to quickly add the cards to the sets directly from the form.
Please note that effectively immediately we will only accept card requests to the player sets that are submitted through this form. Email requests will no longer be accepted. Also, your email address is required on the form in case we have any questions. We are still running weeks behind on requests for new cards to player sets, but hopefully, we will soon be able to decrease the wait time. Thanks for your patience and cooperation!

New Auto-Email for Missing Specs
This week we added a new feature which sends an automatic email to the Set Registry customer service when you attempt to add a card that does not yet have a spec number in the Registry. As a reminder, spec numbers are PSA's internal numbering system and is how the Registry recognizes valid cards for the sets. The automatic email informs us that a spec number needs to be added to a set. Effective immediately, you no longer need to email us with your cert# and set name.
After one business day, you will be able to add your cards.
It has come to our attention that many of you attempt to add new cards to your sets immediately after your grades have been posted online. There is a lag time between the posting online and the time the PSA database is updated with your certification numbers. If you attempt to add cards before your certification numbers have been updated in the database, you will get an error message. Therefore, please allow 24 hours after your grades are posted before attempting to add new cards to your sets. Following this simple time frame will save you and the Set Registry customer service team a great deal of time. Thanks!

Change in Free Grading Policy
We will no longer be issuing free grading codes by email. Should you qualify for free grading, email your name, address and phone number to setregistry@collectors.com
and you will be mailed a submission form to be used exclusively for your free gradings. For more information, click on the Benefits link above.

A word about set editing. One of the clear advantages to having a set registered in the PSA Set Registry is having access to the collector community which is built around the Registry. Buying, selling, and trading are commonplace amongst members. As a courtesy to other registrants, you should immediately delete from your set any card which you have sold or traded. Once done, be sure to click the VALIDATE button. Your deletion will not take effect and the new owner will not be able to add the card to his set until your set is validated. If you have any further questions about this process, please email setregistry@collectors.com.
Your feedback is appreciated. Please feel free to email setregistry@collectors.com with your comments and suggestions.
