Bowman's first try at baseball cards is similar in design to Play Ball's first attempt in 1939. Unfortunately, two of the era's biggest stars, DiMaggio and Williams did not appear; the first cards of future hall-of-famers Stan Musial, Yogi Berra, Warren Spahn and Ralph Kiner, however, make this a solid effort.
