About this set: When I was a kid growing up in the Bay Area and the A's were winning 3 straight World Series, all was right with the world! For a kid obsessed with the game, I couldn't wait to open my first wax pack of baseball cards every year. And, in 1975, I really got a treat! Minis! I was hooked!
I've been lucky enough to assemble one of the finest collections of PSA Graded 1975 Topps Minis cards. Since I lived in California, one of the few states to receive the original test issue, I was able to build my set from scratch, and I've continued to upgrade it through the years.
In my opinion, the '75 Minis are one of the greatest sets Topps has ever produced. These unique cards (2 1/4" x 3 1/8", 20% smaller than the standard Topps cards) feature vibrant colors, large front photos with facsimile autographs, and red/green backs with complete stats. I enjoy the interesting subsets, especially the cards depicting the AL & NL MVP's from each of the first 25 Topps years. However, it's the outstanding class of HOF and should-be-in-the-HOF players (Rose, Blyleven, Rice, Hernandez, Gossage, etc.) that really make this set a classic.
